Study Preparations

Once you have completed and passed the admission test and you have received an offer of admission to PFA, we recommend you start your preparations for the pilot training.

All training will be conducted in English, and it is necessary that all applicants can speak and understand English at an intermediate level.
Aviation terminology, i.e., words and expressions only used within aviation, will be acquired at the academy.

Basic knowledge in maths and physics is a must to become a pilot, and should you wish to study up on these subjects prior to school start, we recommend the book Maths and Physics for pilots which is free to download from iTunes. The contents of this book will prepare you for what to expect when you commence your studies, however, you may also want to have a look at the free online courses, lessons and practice tasks at the Khan Academy webpage. (Norwegian only.)

Another useful resource when it comes to the ATP theory you will be going through during your training can be found on the website physicsclassroom.com.
